With goals from Mbappé, PSG reverses Barcelona’s advantage and goes to the Champions League semi-finals

This Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain beat Barcelona 4-1 at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium and advanced to the semi-finals of the Champions League . With one more from the beginning of the first half, the team reversed the 3-2 defeat in France.
In the semi-final, Luis Enrique’s team will face Borussia Dortmund, who eliminated Atlético de Madrid. The goal for Xavi’s men was scored by Raphinha, while Dembélé, Vitinha and Mbappé (2x) scored for the visitors.

Now, the teams focus on their respective national competitions, with Barcelona facing Real Madrid at 4pm (Brasília time) this Sunday, at the Santiago Bernabéu. PSG will face Lyon on the same date and time, at Parque dos Príncipes.

The game
In the 11th minute of the first half, Barcelona opened the scoring, when Yamal made a beautiful move and served Raphinha, who completed the ball into the goal. In response, Mbappé finished inside the area and Ter Stegen made a great save.

When the clock hit 28 minutes, Ronald Araújo stopped PSG’s counterattack and was sent off. With the free kick, Dembélé almost left everything the same.

In the final stretch of the first stage, the French striker completed Barcola’s cross and equalized the match, in the 39th minute. In stoppage time, number 10 finished and the ball skimmed the post.

With the numerical advantage, PSG put pressure on Barcelona from the beginning of the second half, with Fabian Ruiz missing the opportunity to score inside the area.

After nine minutes, the French took the lead and left everything equal on the aggregate score, when Vitinha finished from distance and beat the German goalkeeper. Shortly afterwards, Cancelo committed a penalty on Dembélé.

Mbappé, in turn, in the 15th minute, converted the penalty and put PSG ahead for a place in the semi-final. Despite being one down, Barcelona were looking to equalize on the scoreboard.

In the 27th minute, striker Lewandowski finished from outside the area for Donnarumma to save. The number 7, however, ended the Spanish team’s chances, in the 43rd minute.
