La Liga: Real Madrid has just made Joselu’s departure official
Joselu signed a two-year contract with the Qatari club, with a further one as an option.
Al-Gharafa announced, in the form of a statement issued through official platforms late this Friday afternoon, that he had reached an agreement with Real Madrid with a view to the permanent transfer of Joselu.
The 34-year-old Spanish international signed a contract valid for the next two seasons with the team currently led by Portuguese coach Pedro Martins, which includes the possibility of being extended for another season, if both parties so understand.
None of the parties involved in the negotiations revealed the amounts involved. Even so, everything points to it being around 1.5 million euros, that is, the same amount that the Merengues paid Espanyol for the player’s pass.
At 34 years of age, the striker will experience his first ‘adventure’ outside European football, after spells in Spain (Real Madrid, Celta de Vigo, Deportivo, Alavés and Espanyol), Germany (Hoffenheim, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hannover) and England (Stoke City and Newcastle).
