Dani Olmo Childhood

Dani Olmo Carvajal was born on May 7, 1998, in the city of Terrassa, Spain.
He was born to his little known mother and father – Miquel Olmo Forte (a former professional football player turned coach).
Dani Olmo, a Spanish citizen of mixed ethnicity with Spanish and Croatian family roots, was raised in his hometown of Terrassa alongside his older brother Carlos.
Coming from a middle-class family in Terrassa, Dani Olmo was a lively child who enjoyed watching his brother play football with their father.

He soon became a part of the family’s sporting passion as he learned to walk, while his father and brother guided him to greater levels of football enjoyment.

Dani Olmo’s first contact with football

When Olmo was still a boy, his father enrolled him in training at the local football club, Terrassa FC.
Although the then little boy was two years too young to be part of the club’s “Benjamin” squad, he was admitted for considerable reasons.
Young Olmo has secured a place at Terrassa FC despite not being of the required minimum age.

At the age of 8, he joined RCD Espanyol in 2006 to begin a serious football career. because he started playing more competitive football miles away from his comfort zone.

It is worth noting that Olmo excelled both at RCD Espanyol and when he joined Barcelona’s youth academy as a 9-year-old in 2007.

Dani was with Barcelona until 2014. At that time, his contract with the La Masia team was coming to an end, and the teenager had to choose another team to play for. Even though he was only 16 years old, he saw a foreign team as the project he needed to develop his football:
“ No other club offered me a sporting project like Dinamo did: the possibility of playing professionally at the age of 16, training with more experienced players with international experience. I decided to go to Croatia to continue developing myself and I don’t regret it. Today I am the player I am because of the time I spent there. ”

Playing for Dinamo, he also received his first call-up to the Spanish national team , which was a pleasant surprise for him.

While still in Zagreb, the player became friends with Jonas , the Brazilian who had joined the team on loan from Flamengo. Jonas had paired up with Olmo on a few occasions and the player from Piauí spoke about the Spaniard on one occasion.
In local football, the player won several domestic titles, including the Croatian Championship five times. After 124 matches and 34 goals, the Spaniard left the country in the middle of the 2019–20 season, also giving up on his teammates.
On 25 January 2020, Olmo moved to the Bundesliga , to play for RB Leipzig , signing a four-year contract. He made his debut on 1 February 2020, in a 2–2 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach coming on for Tyler Adams in the 69th minute.
