Chiesa says: “Juventus never offered me a contract renewal”

26-year-old Italian man says he never asked the management of the ‘vecchia signora’ for a pay rise
Federico Chiesa bid farewell to Juventus fans with a post on social media after joining Liverpool on a permanent deal on Thursday, but criticised the Italian club’s approach to his departure.
 
In the message dedicated to the fans, the Italian international recalled the four seasons he spent at the vecchia signora , however, he assured that he never wanted to increase his salary, because, according to the player, he never received any proposal for renewal from the management.
“Now, as I say goodbye, I would like to clarify the issue of renewal. I have never received a proposal from Juventus and therefore there has never been a request from me or my team to increase or reduce my salary,” Chiesa wrote .
The 26-year-old Italian player confirmed that he was approached before the start of pre-season and informed that he would not be part of the Juventus project. “I was informed that I would not be part of the project even before training with the team began,” it reads.
