Fekir is leaving Betis but Pellegrini does not approve

The Frenchman travelled to the Middle East to negotiate his departure from Spain and his coach was not happy, despite having been authorised by the club

Nabil Fekir is leaving Betis for Al Jazira, according to the Spanish press. This was confirmed by the coach himself, Manuel Pellegrini, who revealed that the player travelled to the Middle East, with the club’s permission, to negotiate his transfer.
“I have nothing to say. Until things are done, I can’t give an opinion. We know how important he is to the team, but in the last few days of the transfer window there have been movements, although at the moment they are speculations. If he has already left, he is not in the squad. I have not spoken to him about it. He went on a trip and there have been internal discussions with the club,” he said, in a press conference ahead of the second leg of the play-off for access to the Conference League , stating that he wants him to continue at the Spanish club, although it is not likely.

“Anything can happen with the transfer window open. I have already given my opinion. For me, the squad is complete with the arrival of Vítor Roque . It was competitive to finish as high as possible in La Liga , the Copa del Rey and the Conference League . We have already paid the consequences of last year with the departure of Luiz Felipe at the end of September and without the possibility of replacing him. Now, without Fekir, it is incomplete”, he explained, recalling the departure of the Brazilian central defender to Saudi Arabia , after the end of the transfer window in Europe, not wanting that situation to be repeated this season.
According to the Spanish press, Real Madrid ‘s Dani Ceballos and Tottenham ‘s Lo Celso are the targets to replace the Frenchman.
Despite the Argentine coach stating that the squad is already closed, the two Portuguese players in the team, Rui Silva and William Carvalho , are also being heavily linked with a possible exit this summer, with Benfica being interested in the Portuguese goalkeeper.
