Brighton and Nottingham Forest draw in the Premier League
Teams go through the first five rounds without losing, a historic streak for the home team and one that visitors haven’t achieved in almost 30 years
All the same
Brighton and Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 in the fifth round of the Premier League at Falmer Stadium. The teams were looking to enter the top four, but the result kept them out of the Champions League zone. On the positive side, the teams maintained their remarkable unbeaten run in the English Championship. Wood opened the scoring from the penalty spot, Hinshelwood and Welbeck turned the game around for the home side late in the first half, and Sosa equalized on the counterattack in the second half.
It’s in history
This is the first time Brighton have not lost in their first five Premier League games. The club previously achieved this run in the Championship, the English second tier, in 2015/16. For Nottingham Forest, the run is also remarkable: in the English Championship, they had not gone through their first five games unbeaten since 1995/96.
