Frankfurt closes in on Bayern at the top of the Bundesliga

Eintracht Frankfurt went to Holstein Kiel’s home and won 4-2, thus rising to 2nd place in the Bundesliga and deepening the crisis of the newly promoted club.

Omar Marmoush was the star of the match and opened the scoring after just 25 minutes. Machino (30′) equalised from the penalty spot shortly afterwards, but Marmoush caused havoc again in the second half, this time assisting Matanovic .

Machino (50′) again tied the match, but Marmoush was unstoppable and put Frankfurt back in front (65′) and even assisted Tuta for the final goal (74′).

Frankfurt thus managed to climb to 2nd place and are now just one point behind leaders Bayern (who drew with Bayer Leverkusen). Kiel are having a tougher time, as they are bottom of the league with just one point.

In the other Bundesliga game this Sunday, Hoffenheim and Werder Bremen put on a real show that ended 4-3 in favor of the Bremen team… who were losing 0-3

A brace from Marius Bulter (5′ and 8′) and a goal from Adam Hlozek (12′) gave Hoffenheim (who will play FC Porto in the third round of the Europa League on 24 October) a seemingly comfortable lead. But the team were without N’Soki – he was shown a straight red – and that completely changed the game, as Werder equalised before half-time.

Julián Malatini (21′) scored first and then a hat-trick from Jens Stage (26′, 39′, 49′), who had not yet scored this season, resulted in a much-celebrated triumph for Werder Bremen.
