In an interview published by journalist Florian Plettenberg , the athlete’s agent, Max Bielefeld, was categorical in stating that, at the moment, there are no plans for a contract renewal. With the contract ending , Tah will be able to sign a free pre-contract with any team from January.
 
“It has been communicated clearly and openly that Jonathan does not currently wish to extend his contract, meaning he would leave the club on a free transfer next summer ,” the agent revealed.

Max also reinforced that the player’s desire was to leave the club in this transfer window. ” We would have liked to have made a change this summer” , he concluded, expressing his dissatisfaction with the situation.
