Kyogo Furuhashi’s family

Kyogo Furuhashi is a Japanese forward known for his speed, skill and goal-scoring instincts. Born on January 20, 1995 in Okayama, he began his professional career with Vissel Kobe, where he quickly made a name for himself. Furuhashi rose to prominence after joining Scottish club Celtic in 2021, where he continued to impress with his performances and crucial goals.

Furayashi began his footballing career with Sakuragaoka FC, later moving on to Aspegas Ikoma FC and Kokoku High School, before attending Chuo University. In his first year at university, he was selected for the All-Japan University Team in 2013, and in his fourth year he tried out for several J.League clubs in an attempt to become a professional player, but did not receive any offers and almost gave up on becoming a footballer. In the end, Furuhashi managed to be accepted by FC Gifu.

He was signed by Gifu to play in the 2017 J.League 2. He was promoted by coach Takeshi Oki, starting in every game since the start of the season. In 2018, he was the MVP of the month of May, after having scored in 5 consecutive games from the 13th round of the season; by the end of July, he had scored 11 goals.

On 16 July 2021, it was announced that he had signed for Celtic for €4 million and signed a 4-year contract. His transfer was the most expensive transfer of a J.League player to Europe. He made his debut on 31 July 2021 in a 2–1 defeat to Heart in the first round of the Scottish Premiership. He scored his first goal for Celtic in a 4–2 victory over Jablonec in the third qualifying round of the Europa League. On 9 August, Furuhashi scored a hat-trick in a 6–0 win over Dundee FC in the third round of the Scottish Premiership.
