Manchester City draw with Arsenal late to lead Premier League

There was emotion left over

Manchester City spent the entire second half under pressure, Arsenal almost held out with one less player – Trossard was sent off at the end of the first half – and the Premier League title favourites were held to a 2-2 draw at City of Manchester in the fifth round. Stones, in the last minute, made the home team’s smothering comeback count and was responsible for securing a draw in Sunday’s derby. Until then, the London team had been winning in a comeback, with goals from Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhães after Haaland’s 100th goal. The result puts the Citizens back at the top of the English Championship.

Villain

The second half was a game of attack against defense due to Trossard’s expulsion. The Belgian received his second yellow card in the first half’s injury time, when he kicked the ball away. It was a reaction to a foul called for a collision with Bernardo Silva’s back

Manager Mikel Arteta closed the house, Raya made three great saves, but Arsenal ended up conceding a goal in the 52nd minute: Grealish worked the short corner, Kovacic shot, and Stones took advantage of the rebound inside the area to equalize.

100 times Haaland

Haaland reached 100 goals for Manchester City. The feat was achieved after just 8 minutes of play, with a Brazilian touch. Savinho came out on the right and carried the ball until he passed it to the Norwegian who finished with a header past Raya. The center forward has 10 goals this season, all in the Premier League, and is the top scorer in the English league.

Concern

Manchester City lost Rodri to injury in the first half. The Spanish midfielder hurt his right knee in a tussle with Partey from a corner in the 15th minute. He limped off the pitch.
