Official: Mario Hermoso reinforces Roma
The 29-year-old Spanish centre-back arrives on a ‘free transfer’ after leaving Atlético Madrid to become a free agent
Roma announced their latest defensive signing on Monday, Mario Hermoso , a 29-year-old Spanish centre-back who joins the Giallorossi as a free agent.
According to AS, the former Atlético Madrid player was in negotiations with Inter and Napoli , but it was Roma who won the race. The Spaniard will have a three-year contract (two years, plus an option). The Spanish press claims that Daniele De Rossi’s intervention was key to closing the deal, as the Roma coach spoke personally with the player.
Hermoso left Atlético de Madrid last season after five seasons with the Colchoneros. He made around 174 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side, scoring 10 goals.
