Raphinha named La Liga’s best player in August
Brazilian striker wins individual award of the month in the Spanish Championship for his good performance playing for Barcelona, leader of the competition with 100% success rate
Barcelona forward Raphinha has been named La Liga’s best player in August 2024/25 . Barça won all four games they played in the month, and the Brazilian was a key player in that, notably with two assists and three goals scored.
Raphinha’s three goals came in the same game, a 7-0 win over Valladolid . It was the first time in his career that the forward had scored three goals in a single match. He started and played the entirety of Barcelona’s four games in August.
The Brazilian is in his third season with the Spanish club. In 91 official games for Barcelona so far, Raphinha has scored 23 goals and provided 25 assists. He recently became one of the team’s captains.
He was not called up for the Brazilian national team’s last matches, against Ecuador and Paraguay, for the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, on this FIFA date in September, because he had to serve a one-match suspension. In other words, he could have entered the field against the Paraguayan team.
