Real Madrid midfielder’s injury forces two-month layoff
Dani Ceballos suffered an injury to his right ankle
Dani Ceballos was injured in the match between Real Madrid and Betis (2-0) last Sunday, having been substituted in the 65th minute. In a statement released on Monday morning, the Merengue club clarified the midfielder’s injury: «Following tests carried out today [Monday] on our player Dani Ceballos , by the Real Madrid Medical Services , he was diagnosed with a grade III sprain with ligament involvement in his right ankle.»
The injury is expected to keep the Spanish international out for at least six to eight weeks.
Ceballos has been used in three of the Whites’ five games this season, clocking up 72 minutes on the pitch. He will be another loss for Carlo Ancelotti, following injuries to Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham .
