Real Madrid now knows the location and date of the Intercontinental Cup final
The former Club World Cup will be played in Qatar, Doha, on December 18, 2024
The format of the Club World Cup has changed, covering several clubs from around the world in 2025, including Benfica and FC Porto who represent Portugal, but FIFA will maintain the old system this year, albeit in a slightly different form.
As European champions, Real Madrid will play in the Intercontinental Cup final, having previously had to progress to the semi-finals to reach the final. The other champions from other continents will have to face each other in earlier stages, as was the case before, to face the Spanish side.
However, the news is that FIFA has already announced the location and final date of this match, which will take place in Qatar, Doha, on December 18, 2024, while the semi-final will be held four days earlier. The stadium is not yet known, although it is most likely to be the Lusail National Stadium, which hosted the 2022 World Cup final .
In 2023, Manchester City , winner of that edition of the millionaire league, beat Fluminense 4-0 on December 22, but had to eliminate Urawa Reds in the previous phase (3-0), thus playing two games in the competition.
