Ronaldo appointed to Man. United… as coach!
The person who ‘opens the door’ to Old Trafford (and beyond) for the Portuguese star is Michael Owen, a former Ballon d’Or winner who shone for the England national team, Liverpool, the ‘Red Devils’ and Real Madrid. And he also points to CR7 as Portugal coach
“It will be fascinating to watch!” What? Cristiano Ronaldo replacing Erik ten Hag as Manchester United coach . Yes, you read that right. And when you say CR7 coaching the Red Devils , you mean CR7 coaching… Real Madrid .
It only remains to explain that this is being said by Michael Owen, a former forward who won the Ballon d’Or in 2001 (one year after Luís Figo) and who shone in the England national team , the Red Devils, the Merengues and Liverpool , among others, in a career in which he scored 262 goals (40 for the national team) in 571 games (89 international appearances).
“Just watching him from the outside, you get the idea that Ronaldo wants to stay close to the pitch in the coming years. He looks like a coach, he looks like he wants to coach. And why not? The Portugal coach position , probably in the future, could be named after him, you never know,” began Michael Owen, now 44 years old, in an interview with TVSporten.
