Rui Silva fails to prevent Betis’ first home defeat

Mallorca secured all three points in the dying seconds as their opponents lost their unbeaten home record this season

In the closing game of the sixth round of La Liga , Mallorca went to Seville to beat Betis 2-1, with the winning goal coming in added time.

Things even started off well, with Lo Celso , who replaced Fekir at the end of the summer transfer window, following up on his brace in the last match and scoring again, but this time it was a real wonder goal, outside the penalty area, in the 7th minute.

However, it only took a few seconds for the visitors to react, with Daniel Rodríguez equalising the score after an assist from Larin, with Valery securing the three points for the visitors in the final seconds.

Rui Silva , a starter, was unable to prevent his club’s first home defeat this season, much to the satisfaction of Samu Costa , in the visitors’ starting eleven, and Chiquinho , on loan from Wolverhampton , who came on for the last 15 minutes. William Carvalho remains injured.

With this victory, Mallorca surpasses Betis in the Spanish league table, reaching fifth place, conditionally, with 11 points, while its opponent this Monday drops to 11th place, with 8 points.
