Valencia player arrested on sexual assault charges
Rafa Mir and another man allegedly committed a crime against two women at the player’s house
Valencia forward Rafa Mir has been arrested on charges of sexual assault against two women. The action by the Spanish Civil Guard was carried out on Monday night, and the player did not participate in training on Tuesday. The information comes from the radio station “Cadena SER” and the newspaper “ABC”, both from Spain.
According to the publications, the alleged crime was committed at the player’s home in Valencia, and another man involved in the case was also arrested. The women filed a complaint and required hospital care. The player is currently waiting in a cell at the Civil Guard Command in Patraix to give a statement before the judge.
Rafa Mir belongs to Sevilla and was loaned to Valencia this season. The Spaniard spent most of his youth training at the club and was at Valencia Mestalla, the Valencia B team, when he joined Wolverhampton in 2018. He was loaned to Las Palmas, Nottingham Forest and Huesca, until he was bought by Sevilla in 2021. Three years later, he returned to Valencia, which has an option to buy in the contract.
