Alaba will only return to the pitch in 2025

Austrian central defender will spend more than a year recovering from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left leg

Another setback in David Alaba ‘s recovery and the Real Madrid player will only return to the pitch in 2025.

According to Relevo , it was expected that the Austrian defender would return to coach Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in October, however, the club’s medical department has recommended giving the player more recovery time so that he can be in the best shape possible.

Despite currently carrying out field work in Valdebebas, Alaba is only expected to return to competition next January, more than a year after suffering a rupture in the anterior cruciate ligament in his left leg in a match against Villarreal , held on December 17, 2023.

At a time when Real Madrid ‘s defensive line is weakened by injuries to Carvajal and Éder Militão , Ancelotti will have to wait until he can count on Alaba again , who is now seen by the club’s structure as a major reinforcement for the next summer.
