Are you sitting down? Cristiano Ronaldo earns more than twice as much as Neymar or Benzema…
Impressive figures were released by Al Sharq News; the Portuguese star earns 263 million euros per year, compared to 100 million for the Brazilian star and around 96 million for the French goalscorer
Jaw-dropping… The millionaire salaries of foreign players who play in Saudi Arabia were released by Al Sharq News, based on financial data from Bloomberg and Forbes, and reveal what was not yet known: that Cristiano Ronaldo , the biggest star in the Saudi football firmament, earns more than double what the other highest-paid players, in this case Neymar and Benzema .
According to that outlet, and at a time when the Saudi league, in terms of transfer volume, is only behind the big-5 — Premier League , Serie A , Ligue 1 , Bundesliga and La Liga —, Cristiano Ronaldo clearly leads the ranking of players who earn the most, doubling the income of other stars in the Saudi league.
The difference is… astronomical. In total, Cristiano Ronaldo is entitled to 263 million euros (just over 200 in salary and the rest in advertising) per season, which is hardly comparable to the 100 million that Neymar pockets (74 million in salary and around 28 million in advertising revenue) at Jorge Jesus’ Al Hilal or the approximately 96 million that Karim Benzema is entitled to at Al-Ittihad. A podium paid for at a weight of… gold
It is important to note that Cristiano Ronaldo is a money-making machine on social media, accumulating more than a billion followers
Further down, in fourth place, comes Sadio Mané , Cristiano Ronaldo ‘s teammate at Al Nassr , who only earns 48 million euros. This top four refers to transfers that do not concern the last summer transfer window. In this regard, however, the new millionaires of Saudi football were also revealed.
At the top is the Englishman Ivan Toney , who earns more than 23 million euros at Al Ahli, and then comes our well-known João Cancelo ( Al Hilal ) and Moussa Diaby ( Benzema ‘s teammate at Al-Ittihad), both in the region of 15 million euros. Nacho (ex- Real Madrid ) or Pierre Aubameyang are also mentioned in the financial report of Al Sharq News, both with figures in the region of 10 million euros, each.
