Arsenal are defeated by Bournemouth and lose their unbeaten record
Arteta’s team wastes chance to sleep in the lead, in a game that saw Saliba sent off in the first half

Bournemouth beat Arsenal 2-0 this Saturday in the eighth round of the English Championship. Despite being stronger in the competition, the visitors were unable to impose themselves and still suffered from the pressure of their opponents after Saliba was sent off . The goals of the game came from Christie and a penalty by Kluivert . The result prevents Arsenal from sleeping on the lead and keeps the team in third place, with 17 points. Bournemouth, on the other hand, rises to 10th, with eleven.
HOW WAS THE GAME?
The first half saw few chances for either side, but Bournemouth pressed harder. Things got worse for Arsenal when Saliba was sent off after bringing down Evanilson, who would have been free on the counterattack in the first half. The referee gave a yellow card, but changed it to red after consulting VAR. Bournemouth didn’t waste the chance and came out swinging in the second half. In the 24th minute, from a short corner kick, Kluivert passed the ball to Christie who came from behind and opened the scoring. Seven minutes later, Evanilson was brought down in the area by goalkeeper Raya, and the referee awarded a penalty. Kluivert scored his own goal and secured the three important points for the team. In addition to not reaching first place, Arsenal lost their unbeaten run in the competition, now with five wins, two draws and one defeat.
