Arsenal’s first-choice striker suffers knee injury
Kai Havertz has been dropped from the Germany squad
The German Football Association has announced that Kai Havertz has suffered a knee injury while playing for Arsenal and has been ruled out of the Mannschaft ‘s upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Bosnia (11 October) and the Netherlands (14 October). Maizn’s Jonathan Burkardt has been called up to replace Havertz.
Havertz played the full 90 minutes for Arsenal against Southampton this Saturday, where he scored for the Gunners for the fourth consecutive game .
If the 25-year-old’s absence is prolonged, it will be a headache for manager Mikel Arteta, who would lose his top scorer this season – six goals in all competitions.
Arsenal’s next game will be at Bournemouth on October 19. The London side will also face Sporting in the Champions League on November 26.
