New interested party

The European press has been reporting that Liverpool are looking for a striker to replace Mohamed Salah. In this sense, the club is targeting the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Now, the Reds see a Premier League team entering the race for the player. It is Aston Villa. According to TBR Football, the Lions are looking for a player to play alongside Ollie Watkins and Jhon Durán.The Cameroonian was signed by Brentford in 2019 from Troyes in France for €6.5 million. In total for the Bees, he has scored 57 goals and provided 39 assists in 210 games, according to statistics website OGol. This season, he has scored six goals in nine matches.

The player’s good performance has made his market value rise. The striker is now costing 40 million euros (R$ 245 million), according to Transfermarkt. Mbeumo’s contract with Brentford runs until mid-2026.

Ready for the next step

In addition to Liverpool and Aston Villa, the talented Bees player is attracting interest from other Premier League clubs. In September, HITC reported that clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle are also monitoring the Cameroonian.

In an interview with L’Equipe in May this year, Bryan Mbeumo had commented on his desire to take a new step in his career. According to the TEAMtalk portal, it would be difficult for Brentford to refuse an offer for the player, given the potential profit.

“I spent five seasons at Brentford, a club that helped me grow and change direction. But yes, I want to play in the biggest competitions, for the best clubs. It’s still exciting to see some of the big teams interested in me,” he said at the time.
