Burkina Faso secured a place in CAN 2025
Burkina Faso team is the first to secure a place in the African tournament

Issa Kaboré , Benfica ‘s right-back , was a starter in Burkina Faso’s 2-0 victory over Burundi, a result that guaranteed Brama Traoré’s team the first spot (apart from Morocco , the host) in the 2025 African Nations Championship, which will take place between December 21 of next year and January 18, 2026.
Kaboré played the full 90 minutes – he was booked in the 85th minute – in a game in which the goals belonged to Mohamed Konaté (5′) and Bertrand Traoré, Ajax forward , converting a penalty in the 90+4′ minute.
After four rounds, Burkina Faso has 10 points and will compete with Senegal (7, minus one game) for the winner of qualifying group L.
