Erik ten Hag has been sacked as Manchester United manager . The information was initially released by The Athletic and later confirmed by the Red Devils in a statement. The Dutch coach is struggling to cope with the Premier League defeat to West Ham and the poor start to the season.
“Erik ten Hag has stepped down as Manchester United manager. Erik took over in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the League Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024. We are grateful for everything he has done during his time at the club and wish him all the best for the future,” read an official statement.
In the same statement, Manchester United , led by Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot , who are in 14th place in the Premier League , announced that Ruud van Nistelrooy will take over as interim manager of the club.
