Florian Wirtz outlines plans for the future
Young German midfielder wants to continue playing in Germany… but not necessarily at Leverkusen
According to SkySport, young German star Florian Wirtz has already decided where he wants to play next season. The 21-year-old midfielder was one of the key players in Leverkusen ‘s Bundesliga triumph last season. Therefore, the German media outlet claims that there is no shortage of interested parties to sign Wirtz.
European giants Real Madrid and Manchester City have reportedly entered the race for the 21-year-old. However, SkySport claims that there is one club in particular that has piqued Wirtz ‘s interest : Bayern . Like Xavi Simons , Wirtz is one of the Bavarians’ priorities for the upcoming summer transfer window. The German midfielder seems to like the idea and is leaning towards a move to the Bavarian club before heading outside Germany.
However, there has not yet been any understanding between Bayern and Leverkusen in this regard. Furthermore, the transfer promises to be difficult since Wirtz’s value is expected to be around 100 million euros, with the German’s contract with Leverkusen lasting until 2027.
