Germany beats Bosnia to maintain lead in Group 3 of League A

SUMMARY

Germany defeated Bosnia 2-1 at their opponents’ home ground. The match in the third round of the Nations League saw two goals in the first half, scored by Undav, and Bosnia scored a goal in the second half, scored by Dezko. The visitors could have won more if three goals were not disallowed due to offside. Germany secured their second victory in the competition and remain in first place in Group 3 of League A, with seven points. Bosnia, on the other hand, finished last in the round, with just one point and further away from the qualifying zone for the next phase.

HOW WAS THE GAME?

Germany started off by showing their technical superiority. Undav’s first goal came in the 29th minute. Andrich’s pass was controlled by Wirtz and left it for the number 13 to shoot. Two minutes later, the Germans had their first misfortune of the game. Kleindienst took advantage of the rebound after Gross’ shot and scored, but he was offside. Undav appeared again in the 31st minute, after a low cross from Mittelstädt. Playing as a center forward, the midfielder simply pushed the ball into the goal.

In the second half, Bosnia came out swinging. Dzeko reduced the score in the 24th minute with a header from a corner kick. Amid pressure from the home team, Germany had two more goals disallowed for offside, one by Undav, who would have scored a hat-trick, and another by Gnabry.
