Javier Aguirre hospitalized ahead of clash with the US
Mexico coach fainted at team hotel and was urgently admitted to a medical unit
On the eve of the Mexico – United States of America match scheduled for the early hours of this Wednesday, the Mexican coach, Javier Aguirre, was rushed to a hospital unit, to be admitted, after having fainted in the hotel where the team is staying, in the city of Guadalajara.
One of the leaders of the Mexican football federation, Edgar Martínez, assured the local press that there was no reason for alarm and that Aguirre’s fainting was related to a recent surgical intervention that the Mexican coach underwent, promising an official statement from the federation with all the explanations at a later date.
For now, the presence of Javier Aguirre on the team’s bench for the duel with the USA is in doubt and it is most likely that the 65-year-old coach from Mexico will not be able to lead the tricolor.
