Man City lineup: Guardiola rules out two players from the clash
Wolverhampton and Manchester City face each other next Sunday (20), at Molineux Stadium, in a game valid for the eighth round of the Premier League . Coach Pep Guardiola may be forced to make changes to the starting team.
Nathan Aké returned to training after being out for exactly a month due to an injury to the back of his left thigh, suffered in the match between Holland and Germany for the Nations League , in the penultimate FIFA date.
Kevin De Bruyne was not present at training this Thursday (17). He is recovering from a biceps femoris injury and missed Manchester City in six games.
In a press conference held on Friday morning (18), Guardiola confirmed the absence of both for the duel against Wolverhampton.
— They are training, they are in the last part (of recovery). Yesterday, Nathan had his first training with the team, so maybe he can travel (to Wolves). But I think to start with, he is not ready — said the coach.
Kyle Walker , Manuel Akanji , Savinho and Ederson were also not in the first phase of group activities this Thursday, which seems natural, since they were all on the field for their respective national teams during the FIFA Date and were given a rest.
— Some of them, the Brazilians (Savinho and Ederson), Manu (Akanji), yesterday was their day off, so today and tomorrow we will know exactly — declared Guardiola.
Guardiola is still counting on two other confirmed absences for the clash against Wolverhampton on Sunday:Oscar Bobb, who suffered a broken leg on August 14 and has been absent from the team for 10 games.
Rodri, who suffered a torn cruciate ligament on September 23 and is out for the season.
