Mbappé’s lawyer talks about a ‘trap’: «He was followed, someone knew he was going to Stockholm»
Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard points the finger at the Swedish newspaper that published an image of the player in the city and, two days later, reported the complaint for alleged rape
In an interview with French television station RMC Sport, Kylian Mbappé ‘s lawyer , Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, refuted the rape allegations in Sweden surrounding the Real Madrid player .
The lawyer highlighted that her client – who is in litigation with PSG – has been “the target of a defamation campaign and an attack on his image for months”, pointing the finger at Aftonbladet, the Swedish newspaper that brought the alleged case involving the Frenchman to light in Stockholm.
“As far as his private life and his diary are concerned, I have some factual observations to make. He made this little trip to Stockholm and, surprisingly, a paparazzo and a newspaper published the information and photograph of him. He was followed, someone knew he was going to Stockholm. As if by chance, this same newspaper published the information that culminated in a complaint, supposedly, being filed. Was it orchestrated? I don’t draw conclusions of that kind, I don’t know. I’m asking myself questions. I can ask them, because of the timing ,” she said.
Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard also stressed: “He has nothing to criticize. Besides, we don’t know anything.”
