Mourinho and what has changed since his time with Ten Hag: “Now they have faith in the coach”
Fenerbahçe to host Manchester United and Portuguese coach highlights «stability and confidence»
José Mourinho meets Manchester United again this Thursday , which he managed between 2016 and 2018. Now at Fenerbahçe , the teams will meet for the Europa League , but his press conference was very much about the English club and the Portuguese was asked about the problems the team has had since his departure.
“Honestly, I haven’t wasted a minute thinking about it. I’ve wanted the best for Manchester United since the moment I left. I left with a good feeling about the club and the fans and I want the best for them,” he said.
The coach added that the current problems do not make him happy: “If things are not going very well, it is not something that makes me happy. But I don’t have time, it doesn’t make sense for me to be thinking about what happened, what didn’t happen. What is certain is that now they have faith in the coach [Erik ten Hag], they support the coach, who stays season after season. That means stability and it means confidence, giving him the conditions to keep his job”, he stressed.
