After Roberto Mancini’s departure last Thursday, the Saudi Arabian national team has already announced the successor to the Italian coach. It is the Frenchman Hervé Renard, who had already led the Asian team between 2019 and 2023.

Renard was in charge of the French women’s national team for the past year and a half, but stepped down in August 2024 after the team’s participation in the Olympic Games. The 56-year-old also has experience in charge of Morocco , Ivory Coast , Zambia and Angola. At club level, he has coached AS Cherbourg, Cambridge United, SC Draguignan, USM Alger, Sochaux and Lille . He has won two African Cup of Nations titles.
