Paquetá could be permanently banned for obstructing investigation
The issue is the fact that he got rid of his old cell phone, but it is guaranteed that the Brazilian will play, at least, until the end of the season.
More than a year after an investigation was launched into Lucas Paquetá for intentionally receiving yellow cards in Premier League games , The Sun reports that the Brazilian could be banned by the FA (Football Association) for life for illegal betting.
These 60 bets ranged from 10 to 550 euros and were all made in Brazil , in Rio de Janeiro, precisely in the footballer’s hometown, with the total winnings reaching 120 thousand euros.
The West Ham player got rid of his old mobile phone, which was investigated by the FA for eight weeks a year ago, and bought a new one. The FA recently wanted to re-examine the phone but the midfielder was unable to locate it and was therefore accused of obstructing the investigation.
According to the same source, the 27-year-old athlete’s first hearing will take place in March 2025, so he will be available to play at least until the end of this season.
