San Lorenzo in crisis: fans invade training to demand explanations
Around a hundred individuals entered the Argentine club’s facilities and spoke to the players. The team is in 24th place in the championship
San Lorenzo, the historic Argentine club, is going through a turbulent time. Two days after Romagnoli was fired as the team’s coach, following a series of poor results, the club’s training centre was invaded by around a hundred fans, who came to demand an explanation from the squad.
According to AS , the approach was tense, although no physical or verbal aggression was recorded. The same source reports that the fans entered the sports complex when the training session had already started and made several demands on the athletes, as well as reprimanding their behavior on the field, with the aim of making the squad understand what was at stake.
Several members of the squad did not let this go and responded, stating that the instability that the club is experiencing is one of the main causes of the crisis that has taken hold at San Lorenzo. “Go out on the streets, talk and expose everything, but here we have to win”, some fans are said to have said afterwards.
The Buenos Aires team, which has not won a title since 2016, is currently 24th in the Argentine championship (28 teams), with just 18 points in 17 matches.
