Spanish Federation applies measure to ease players’ burden
The Spanish Super Cup will no longer have extra time, with the decision going straight to penalties in the event of a draw
In order to ease the physical burden on players, especially given the increase in the number of games this season, the Spanish Federation (RFEF) announced this Thursday that Super Cup games will no longer have extra time.
In the event of a draw, the decision will go straight to penalties, both in men’s and women’s football, with the men’s semi-finals being Athletic Bilbao – Barcelona and Real Madrid – Osasuna .
The games will be played in January 2025, on the 8th and 9th.
