Barcelona guarantees two African players
Mali’s ‘Africa Foot’ Academy confirms Ibrahim Diarra and Arouna Traoré in the Catalans
Barcelona is determined to invest in the African market . Last season, Mika Faye, a Senegalese defender who was appointed to FC Porto , became one of the revelations of the B team and his sale to Rennes yielded around 10 million euros for the Catalans.
This season, the Blaugrana have already secured David Oduro and Aziz Issah from Ghana for Barça Atlético. However, the focus on the African market will not stop there. On Wednesday, the Africa Foot Academy in Mali confirmed that Barcelona have secured the signings of Ibrahim Diarra and Arouna Traoré.
Ibrahim Diarra, a young Malian winger, considered the best player at the last Under-17 World Cup , costs a total of around 1.7 million euros.
Fewer details are known about Arouna Traoré (17 years old), but in this case he will be joining on trial. An under-20 international for Mali, he scored eight goals and provided three assists in the Malian second division last season. Arouna Traoré is also a forward and has had other interested parties, including French side Lille .
