VICTORY BUILT IN THE 1ST HALF
Real Sociedad were very well organized tactically and outplayed Barcelona in the first half. They started by looking to attack, posing danger with Kubo and Brais Méndez. Barça managed to score with Lewandowski in the 12th minute, but the goal was disallowed by VAR for a slight offside – only the Polish player’s toe was in front of the marker. Real Sociedad’s goal came in the 32nd minute: goalkeeper Iñaki Peña tried to pass the ball, but Real Sociedad recovered the ball, Susic headed it into the box, and Becker scored with a cross shot. In the second half, the home team was even more superior, preventing Barcelona from pressing with quality in search of an equalizer.
