Dalot approves Ruben Amorim’s debut: “It had an immediate impact”
The Portuguese coach did not go beyond the draw against Ipswich Town, but the side already notices the changes
Ruben Amorim’s debut as coach of Manchester United continues to merit reactions, this time within the squad itself. At the end of the draw against Ipswich Town (1-1), Diogo Dalot , who was in the starting lineup, was confident about the future and is already noticing some changes in the Red Devils.
«It’s going very well. He’s had an immediate impact, in terms of his philosophy and the way he wants us to play. He fits the club’s standards. He wants high-intensity football and works hard for the team. We just need to put this into practice now», he analyzed, quoted by the Daily Mail .
He continued: “He is exactly what we need for this type of club. This is the standard that the club must have, demanding that people are truly professional and work hard for the team. That’s the clear message he gives us every day, which was very clear to us and obviously now we’re going to do some more training and games to put that into practice.”
Dalot also revealed what he notices different about Ruben Amorim’s speech to the cast: “Get back to running and work hard. Give [teammates] an option and don’t be afraid to have the ball. He wants us to have more control of the games and that’s what we want to do.”
After his debut in the Premier League , Ruben Amorim’s debut at Old Trafford is expected, next Thursday, against Bodo/Glimt , in the Europa League .
