De Bruyne admits: “Games against Sporting, Brighton and Bournemouth were chaotic”
The Belgian midfielder is returning from injury and takes the pulse in the dressing room after Manchester City’s five consecutive defeats
Kevin De Bruyne spoke about Manchester City ‘s recent poor run of form , and was asked if the mood in the dressing room has been sombre given their unprecedented five consecutive defeats under Pep Guardiola:
«I wouldn’t say dark, it’s been a little chaotic. I saw a lot of people going through the medical area [to try to find out] who plays and who doesn’t play. There are a lot of people playing who shouldn’t be playing [due to injuries].”
«The games against Sporting (1-4), Brighton (1-2) and Bournemouth (1-2) were chaotic. Tottenham ( 1-2) was more normal. Everyone is sad about the five defeats, but we have to move on,” added the player.
The Belgian once again addressed his most recent injury: “This has been the most frustrating injury. When I was gone for five or six months, I knew that was the case. This time, I didn’t know how long it would take to get better. I’m doing a number of things to achieve this. I was pleased that against Tottenham I saw something different to the previous two games I was in.’
Despite everything, De Bruyne said the team knows what to do: ‘We have always had one or two crisis meetings every year. When there is a big season, it happens at a certain time. Right now, we don’t need another one.”
