Kane criticises teammates: “England comes before any club”
The English captain regretted the decision of some of his teammates to forgo this November training camp to regain their fitness at the club
Eight English players withdrew from the national team at this November training camp, which will see the final two rounds of the Nations League played , and Harry Kane criticised his teammates’ decision.
“I think the joy of playing for England , he [Gareth Southgate] brought that back and all the people were excited to get to the camp, to want to play for England . And yeah, I think that’s the most important thing. England comes before everything, before the club. England is the most important thing as a professional footballer, so… and Gareth [Southgate] was on top of that and he wasn’t afraid to make decisions,” he explained, in an interview with ITV Sport , knowing that it is a period of the season in which there are many physical problems, but regretting what happened.
“It’s a shame this week, of course… I think it’s a difficult period of the season and maybe they took a bit of advantage of it. I don’t like it very much, if I’m completely honest, I think, and as I’ve said here, England comes before anything, any club situation,” he added.
