According to the Daily Mail, the trainer returned ‘to base’ alone, leaving his wife and children behind. The newspaper reports that upon being informed that his contract was going to be terminated, Ten Hag immediately went to Manchester airport, where a private jet took him back home.
The newspaper publishes photos of the 54-year-old coach at his parents’ home, Hennie and Joke, in the town of Oldenzaal, where he grew up, and says that his wife, Bianca, and their two children, stayed at the house, in the county of Cheshire, where he lives handle administrative matters before joining him in the Netherlands.
The club is about to announce Rúben Amorim as his successor, with the Sporting coach promising news after the game with E. Amadora.
