Meet Hansi Flick’s entire family

Hansi Flick grew up in Mückenloch, a district of Neckargemünd in Baden-Württemberg. Football was not always the Electoral Palatinate’s top priority: After graduating from college, Flick initially completed an apprenticeship as a banker. At the tender age of 18, he met his current wife, Silke, who was 15 at the time. The couple married in 1987.
Although Hansi Flick was born in Heidelberg, he grew up in the Neckargemünd district of Mückenloch. Flick remained loyal to the small town until he obtained his technical college entrance qualification. This was followed by training as a banker. However, Flick put work aside in favor of his career as a professional football player.

Hansi Flick met his current wife, Silke, when he was 18. She was 15 years old. They married in 1987 and had two daughters: Kathrin and Hannah, born in 1989 and 1991.
For Flick, his wife is also his most important advisor and support. When making decisions, she often guides him in the right direction. Even when he had to end his playing career at the age of just 28 due to several injuries, she provided him with valuable support during this time. The shock was even greater when Silke was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. Cancer plagues his life

On the subject he said: “I still admire my wife for the strength and inner calm with which she overcame the difficult situation. I cried every night. I lay in bed with tears in my eyes much more often than she did.
Silke overcame it, but that phase of her life “taught me humility and gratitude. We blind ourselves to death, often skillfully. But in my experience, facing the fact that we won’t be here forever leads to a more conscious way of life. There are bigger and more important things than football,” he said.
Flick admits that this situation changed him completely: “From this stage in my life I see encounters and interpersonal relationships from a different perspective and I never take them for granted.”

Who are Hansi Flick’s children?

Flick’s pride and joy are his two daughters, Kathrin and Hannah, born in 1989 and 1991. His youngest daughter, Hannah, who works as a photographer and runs an Instagram channel where she showcases her photo portfolio, has already made him a grandfather twice. He loves playing Lego with his grandchildren.
