Alexander-Arnold in talks to extend his contract with Liverpool
The full-back is one of three key figures for the Reds whose contracts expire at the end of the season
Liverpool have already begun negotiations with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah to renew their contracts, which expire at the end of this season. Alexander -Arnold is in the same situation, but it seems that the club has also begun the process of renewing the contracts of the 26-year-old full-back, according to Alexis Mac Allister , a midfielder for the Merseyside club.
In an interview with Spanish newspaper As , the Argentine revealed: “Alexander-Arnold is a player of enormous quality. He has already been criticized for his defensive role, but I have no doubt that, both in defense and attack, he is a different player. Like Salah, he is in negotiations with the club and we hope he can stay in the team.”
Trained at Liverpool, this is the only club that Alexander-Arnold played for in his career, but with his contract coming to an end, he was already linked to Real Madrid, who intended to sign him free of charge at the end of the season.
Speaking of contracts, Mac Allister’s contract with Liverpool lasts until 2028, but the 25-year-old midfielder is still thinking about playing in Spain: «Why not? It’s a country that I really like and that I’ve visited several times and, mainly, due to the language and culture, it’s very similar to Argentina. Without a doubt, one day I would like to play in Spain. But, at the moment, I am very comfortable at Liverpool.”
