“Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to come to PSG”
Revelation made by Patrice Evra, Cristiano’s former teammate at Manchester United
Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid in 2018, after nine very successful years, and ended up signing for Juventus , where he stayed until 2021. However, the Portuguese star’s fate could have been different, as Patrice Evra revealed to RMC Sport .
Appearing on the programme Rothen s’enflamme , the former French international said: «Did Ronaldo ever want to come to PSG? Yes. That was before he signed for Juventus.»
“He had options like Chelsea , Juventus, PSG, Arsenal … he said he would never go to Arsenal and was interested in the Parisian project,” said Evra, who shared the dressing room with Ronaldo between 2006 and 2009 at Manchester United.
The former full-back also believes that the Portuguese player would have done well in France: «You can criticise Cristiano, but he would have adapted. He would have made an effort. Look at what he is doing in Saudi Arabia. He is a Saudi!»
The forward ended up signing for the vecchia signora , who paid 117 million euros for his transfer, where he would win Serie A twice before, in 2021, returning to Manchester United.
