His father, Douglas Sousa, posted his son’s goals on YouTube, a video-based social network, and sought out interested players from major Brazilian clubs. By the time he was eight, Endrick was playing for Brasília Fut Academy, a local team that had a partnership with São Paulo; the São Paulo team eventually invited the striker to live in the club’s accommodation. However, the deal fell through after São Paulo refused Douglas’s request for the club to provide him with housing or a job in the capital.

Douglas once again showed videos of Endrick’s performances, highlighting his performance in the Copa Go, an international youth tournament, where he scored 17 goals in 7 games. These performances caught the attention of Palmeiras, and director João Paulo Sampaio called him for a week of trials. Endrick was accepted and moved with his parents to São Paulo, joining the under-11 team. The club also offered Endrick’s father a job as a cleaning assistant. In the youth categories, the striker scored 161 goals in 188 games over five years, this was one of the best achievements of Endrick’s childhood.

At 15, Endrick was a key player in Palmeiras’ 2022 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior win. He scored five goals in five games, including one against ASSU, becoming the club’s youngest player to score in the competition. On the day he turned 16, July 21, 2022, Endrick signed his first professional contract with Palmeiras, valid for three years, with a termination clause of 60 million euros (approximately R$334 million at the time). A few days later, he was registered for the quarterfinals of the Libertadores, receiving the number 16 shirt. His first call-up to the main squad came on September 18, in the derby against Santos, for the Brazilian Championship, where he was on the bench.

His official debut took place on October 6, when Palmeiras beat Coritiba 4-0 at Allianz Parque. Endrick became the youngest player to play professionally for the club. On October 25, he scored his first two goals as a professional in the 3-1 victory against Athletico Paranaense, also becoming the youngest player in Palmeiras history to score a goal.

On November 2, he scored again, this time against Fortaleza, contributing to a 4-0 victory and celebrating the Brazilian Championship title. With this, Endrick became the first player in Palmeiras’ history to win a championship in all categories, from the U-11 to the professional category.

2023

In February 2023, Endrick was elected the winner of the first edition of the U-20 Samba de Ouro, an award given to the best Brazilian player under the age of 20, receiving 28.4% of the votes. In April, he scored in the 4-0 victory over Água Santa in the final of the Campeonato Paulista, helping Palmeiras win the state title for the 25th time.

After the final, he was on the bench for a period until he resumed his starting position in the final rounds of the Brasileirão. Endrick was decisive in Palmeiras’ conquest of the 12th Brazilian title, scoring six goals in the last eight games of the championship. Highlights include his goals against Athletico Paranaense, Internacional and América Mineiro, as well as two goals scored in the historic 4-3 comeback against Botafogo, after the Rio de Janeiro team opened up a 3-0 lead.

On December 15, 2022, Palmeiras and Real Madrid announced the transfer of Endrick. The Brazilian press reported that the deal was worth approximately 70 million euros (around R$393 million) and that the contract would be valid until 2027, with the option to renew for another three years. The deal officially came into effect on 21 July 2024, when Endrick turned 18, making him one of the biggest signings in Brazilian football history.

2024–25

Endrick was unveiled as a Real Madrid player on 27 July, being given the number 16 shirt. He made his debut in a pre-season friendly on 31 July against Milan in the United States, playing 45 minutes in a 1–0 defeat.

His first official match came on 25 August in a 3–0 win against Valladolid in La Liga. Endrick came on as a substitute and scored his first goal, becoming the youngest foreign player to score for the club in La Liga, aged 18 years and 35 days.

On 17 September, he made his UEFA Champions League debut, scoring a stunning goal from outside the box in a 3–1 win against Stuttgart. With this, Endrick became the youngest player to score for Real Madrid in the history of the competition, as well as the youngest Brazilian to score in the Champions League, at 18 years and 58 days.
