Takefusa Kubo to appear in Doraemon episode
Real Sociedad will also be represented
Takefusa Kubo will appear in a special holiday episode of the popular anime Doraemon, of which he is a fan. The Japanese player will appear representing his emblem, Real Sociedad , which, as he himself stated, «will become the first football team to participate in one of the most popular cartoons of all time».
In a statement, the cartoon’s producer revealed the synopsis of the episode, to be broadcast in Japan on December 31st: «In this story, Nobita falls asleep and misses the New Year. Fortunately, Doraemon informs them that the celebration has not yet started in Spain, so they decide to travel to the capital, Madrid. Kubo appears in Madrid to show off his skills with the ball.»
This collaboration comes to mark the 30th anniversary of the program’s debut in Spain.
Kubo is one of the most popular players in the Japanese national team, a figure at Real Sociedad and also a fan of Doraemon; when he arrived at Villarreal in 2020, on loan from Real Madrid, his practice was to sing the series’ song in Japanese.
The popular futuristic series about the cat Doraemon has existed since 1979 and arrived on Portuguese television in 2000, in the Spanish version, with subtitles, and was later dubbed into Portuguese.
