Tebas and the new European Super League: “They produce formats as if they were churros”
La Liga president criticises A22 proposal for a new European club competition
The European Super League is back with a new name and a different format than before. The (now called) Unify League has already been presented to UEFA and FIFA, but not everyone is a fan of this new race.
Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, took to social media to criticize the proposal from A22, promoter of the competition: «Those from A22 are back with a new idea: they produce formats as if they were churros (and they are), without analyzing or studying the economic and sporting effects on competitions.’
«The television model they propose only favors the big clubs (and they know this…), putting at risk the economic stability of national leagues and their clubs», wrote the director, who has always been against the creation of a European super league .
