Real Madrid beat Pachuca 3-0 on Wednesday to win the Intercontinental Cup. The Spanish team won the competition for the ninth time and is the most successful team in the world. In addition to the team’s victory, Vinicius Júnior was named the best player in the grand final and the tournament.

Vini Jr. scored Real Madrid’s third goal in the grand final. The striker took the penalty from the right side of goalkeeper Carlos Moreno, who was unable to prevent the goal. The other two were scored by Mbappé and Rodrygo.

Vini was named the best player in the world at the FIFA The Best 2024 awards , which took place on the eve of the Intercontinental Cup grand final. The striker’s achievement marks the sixth Brazilian to win the award for best player in the world. In addition to Kaká, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Romário had previously won the trophy.
