Amorim warns fans: “The season will be a rollercoaster”

Despite Manchester United ‘s recent good form – after wins against Southampton and Arsenal and a draw against Liverpool – Ruben Amorim warns fans that the rest of the season will not be easy for the Old Trafford side.

“It’s going to be tough until the end of the season. It’s going to be a bit of a rollercoaster. After that, it depends on how much time you have to train. We’re still in the Cup and we have European games, the Europa League. So it’s also important to focus on next Thursday [against Rangers ] to win and try to get into the top eight. That way, we can get two games out of the calendar and have a full week,” he said.

“We are trying to do everything at the same time. We have trained together seven times in 14, 15 games. It is very difficult, but we have to keep going and try to win. Sometimes playing well, sometimes playing badly. We are going to try to win the games. We are going to try to win the games,” Amorim continued. “I think the best thing to do to help the players is to stay calm and try to explain what needs to change. Then we will have time to get angry with them,” said the Portuguese coach.

«Market? I want to keep my players»

Regarding the transfer market, Ruben Amorim admitted that he wants to keep all the players in the Red Devils’ current squad, even with several names being linked with leaving the club: «They are our players, so we have control over that [transfers]. We are the ones who decide. Sometimes it is more difficult for the players because they have some information and that is felt in all teams. That’s how it is.»

When asked specifically about Antony, Amorim stressed again that he wants to keep all the players: «As I said, I want to keep my players, I am focused on these players. I don’t know what will happen in this window, we will see. But he [Antony] did a good job today [yesterday].»
