Armored vehicles and bodyguards: Depay’s million-dollar contract at Corinthians
Dutch international with high salary and other perks in Brazilian football
Memphis Depay moved to Brazilian football in September and Globoesporte has now revealed details of the Dutch international’s multi-million dollar contract with Corinthians .
The forward arrived in Brazil with a salary of around 11 million euros, a figure that could increase until the end of his contract in December 2026. In 2025, Memphis Depay could earn a total of 13 million euros. If he meets the objectives included in his contract, the former player for clubs such as PSV, Manchester United, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid could receive close to 19 million euros.
Corinthians relies on the help of major sponsors to be able to have a player with the Dutchman’s salary weight in the squad.
In addition to his salary and bonuses for objectives, Depay has other perks: a house in a gated community, an apartment for his advisor, bodyguards, two armored vehicles with a private driver, a private cook, 24 business class tickets between Brazil and Europe and a box at the Corinthians stadium .
Memphis Depay is also protected if he ever leaves Brazilian football, and could even earn money. The striker also has the option of terminating his contract with Corinthians by paying five million euros. If a Brazilian club wants Depay , the player would receive 20 percent of the transfer fee, while if it is a foreign club, he would receive around 50 percent.
In 2024, Depay scored seven goals and provided four assists in 14 games for the club.
