Arteta on Amorim: “There is a big reason why he is where he is”
Arsenal boss praises Portuguese coach ahead of Gunners v Manchester United clash
This Sunday, Mikel Arteta and Ruben Amorim will meet again when Manchester United travel to the Emirates for the third round of the FA Cup.
Regarding the Portuguese coach, the Arsenal manager had no doubts in stating that he deserves to be at Old Trafford and revealed that he follows Amorim’s work: «I know him well, I followed him in Portugal and there is a big reason why he is where he is at the moment and he deserves to be there.»
“All coaches, when they are appointed, have different reasons. Sometimes it is to transform a football club,” he added.
As for United ‘s current form , having not won since December 15, Arteta preferred to highlight the Red Devils’ performances against more demanding opponents, namely Manchester City and Liverpool : “Look at how they performed against the big teams, how they performed and the results they got.”
“It’s a beautiful game against a big club, which will bring a lot of fans,” concluded the Spaniard.
The game between Arsenal and Manchester United is scheduled for 3pm next Sunday.
